Welcome to the John Kerr Foundation

Hello friends! Thank you for visiting our site. For those of you who don’t know, I decided a few years ago to start a nonprofit foundation to raise awareness about Muscular Dystrophy, and to give back to society. I have been extremely blessed throughout my life with the kindness of others, and have had numerous opportunities to succeed given to me. I started the foundation so that others living with Muscular Dystrophy may have a chance to experience life as I have. - John

 What We Do

The John Kerr Foundation (JKF) is dedicated to meeting the needs of persons with Muscular Dystrophy (MD). Our objective is to directly enhance the lives of those living with MD, through the awarding of scholarships, providing medical and other needed equipment, organizing adventure related activities, and promoting independence and self worth. In addition, the JKF has recently begun sponsorship of the Muscular Dystrophy Adult Support Group (MDASG) Summer Retreat. This group is made up of adults with MD who, once a year, come together in the foothills of the Yosemite Valley to exchange ideas and resources, and offer one another support. Our eventual goal is to establish the John Kerr Foundation summer camp for children with MD.
